News & Press / Record Reviews - Resonanser - Swedish Choral Music - New Perspectives
The minimalist piece by Anders Hillborg, En midsommarnattsdröm ("A midsummer night's dream"), has nothing to do with Shakespeare, but takes its text from a Swedish poem that also speaks of the Swedish countryside. Indeed, nature in various guises is a central subject of Scandinavian poetry and music, especially in Sweden, and it is the unsentimental approach taken here that brings something new to the experience.
